Types of Piezo Atomizer Transducers

Piezo atomizer transducers are used to pound the various type of liquids into very fine droplets by the mechanical energy of high-frequency ultrasonic vibration, widely used as main elements of industrial and offical humidifiers, medical vaporizers, aromatherapy diffusers, mist makers, and precision spraying machines, ultrasonic disinfection system, etc. Here are some common types piezo atomizing transducers as below:

Piezo Mist Transducers


piezo mist transducers Piezo mist transducers are made of piezoelectric discs with good temperaturestability and piezoelectrical effect, the oscillation frequency is 1.7MHz or 2.4MHz, the input voltage varies from 24V to 48V depending on the amount of atomization. For various liquid environments, there are usually several coatings on the surface of mist transducers including nickel, titanium alloy or polymer materials.

Due to higher spray volume and longer service life, piezo ceramic transducers are used for a wide range of industrial mist generation or other applications which requiring greater fogging output. Cool atomization is a physical process, no need to add chemical reagents or heat, compare to heating atomization method, the energy can be greatly saved by 90%.

Metal Mesh Piezo Atomizer


Metal Mesh Piezo Atomizer Alos known as micropore atomizer transducers, the metal mesh head generally consists of stainless steel with hundreds of micropores, piezo disc, sealing ring. The vibration frequency varies from 108khz to 152khz, the input voltage is 3V to 12V. A bespoke piezoelectric disc is bonded to the back of the metal sheet with 500 to 2000 micron-level holes. The diameter and quantity of fog droplets can be determined by changing the number of holes and hole sizes.

The hole size of metal mesh can vary from 3μm to 10μm based on specific requirement. For examples, 5μm~6μm is proper for applications such as mini humidifiers, on-board atomizers and other applications requiring smaller volume of fog spray.7μm~8μm is proper for applications such as beauty, aromatherapy atomizer and other
applications requiring larger volume of fog spray. 3µm~5µm is generally is applicable to the medical industry requiring fine fog.

Ultrasonic Atomizing Nozzle

Ultrasonic atomizing nozzle is generally made of titanium alloy nozzle, amplitude transformer and piezo ceramics. As the liquids are pumped and reach atomizing nozzle, high power ultrasonic vibration break it into very fine mist with micron-grade size. The spay volume of atomizer transduers is controllable and can creat continuous atomizing effect, will not flow back into the nozzle from these standing waves.

Ultrasonic spraying transducers are applied in a wide range of industries such as humidification, spraying, moisturizing, painting and other applications require liquid atomization. Droplet sizes depend on specific frequency,
