Cleaning Objects
Stainless steel sintered felt filters (polyester melt filters) in chemical fiber industry.
Features of polyester melt filters
In the production of polyester melt, because of the filter media with high viscosity and high temperature, metal sintered felt filters are often chosen for filtering, with rod shape and small aperture, filter precision will vary from 10 um to 50 um.
The polyester melt on filter element will clot while offline. On the other hand, the special structure of filter element will absorb a lot of ultrasonic energy. All these factors are leading to a result that the cleaning work is very difficult.
Cleaning process for polyester melt filters
The whole cleaning technique comprises the steps of depolymerization, alkali cleaning, rinsing, spray cleaning
, energy-gathered ultrasonic cleaning, drying and detection.
We can significantly enhance cleaning effect after the above cleaning process. TEG depolymerization and ultrasonic cleaning are key steps in cleaning process, the former is used for removal of organic compounds, the latter is used for removal of inorganic compounds. Alkali cleaning and high pressure spray cleaning are auxiliary steps in cleaning process, which can effectively reduce the cleaning time and improve cleaning efficiency.

High pressure spray cleaning is mainly used for washing inorganic residues, TiO2 and carbon black, which are attached to surface of filters.
Cleaning system can run automatically according to the predefined program. Capable to turn filter elements at 360 degree, high pressure cleaning from inside to outside, and together with spray cleaning.
This is often critical especially for good cleaning effect. |

The dirt remained in the pore of filter can only be removed by ultrasonic which is suitable for porous structure.
Because of its high filter accuracy and large dirt holding capacity, generally use high power energy-gathered transducers, the ultrasonic energy is about 8 times the density of horn-type transducers.
The final cleaning result must be ensured through ultrasonic cleaning work. |

Using hot-air lance and compressed air to dry polyester melt filters. The temperature of air outlet is about 150 ℃ during the drying work.
As the image shows on the left, there are 6 air outlets for drying 6 filter elements at a time. The power of hot-air lance is 10KW.
The filters can rotate 360 degree and the air outlets dry filter elements with left-right action. |
|
After cleaning work, polyester melt filters are putting into the concentration of 50% propyl alcohol, full immersion is necessary to ensure that there are no bubbles in pores of filter elements.
Then injecting air into filters, to measure air pressure and flow of uniform bubbles.
According to different precision standards, to finally judge if polyester melt filters can be used. |
